"Stackable was the right host at the right time."

Listen Technologies Corporation (www.listentech.com) manufactures state-of-the-art wireless audio products used in assistive listening, soundfield, tour group, language interpretation and conferencing applications.

Founded in 1998 by President and CEO Russell Gentner, and headquartered in Bluffdale, Utah, Listen Technologies offers over 300 products designed to bring an enriching sound experience to a global audience. Listen solutions are the ideal choice for corporate meeting rooms, schools, houses of worship, factories, entertainment facilities, government agencies and other entities.

When Paul Tagge, Director of Information Technologies, started with Listen Technologies, the company had its website setup on a shared hosting environment. In 2009 Listen Technologies shifted its communications on the Internet and in social media. This shift led to a website redesign changing the function and management of the website. According to Tagge:

"We wanted the ability to easily create new content for the website and expand ownership of the website to multiple people. Our goal was to create a communications structure that would drive visitors to the website. Once on the site the navigation and content would educate and engage new and existing customers about our solutions. To make the website easier to update, we installed a CMS called Magento that allowed us to setup different people in the company to manage their own sections of the website."

While Listen Technologies' new CMS worked well, the hosting environment created some immediate issues.

"Magento just didn't work very well on a shared platform. We saw a lot of delays, time outs, and error messages when we made adjustments to the database. Things just weren't working."

Then, Tagge heard about Stackable and decided to move Listen Technologies' website to one 1G Stack.

"Out of the box, Stackable improved our load times dramatically—from about 36 seconds to 1 second. It was amazing. Once we got on it and started testing it, all of the issues we were having before were immediately gone. I really like the interface and the flexibility of changing and modifying on the fly without having to call anyone. I mean...it's a great platform at a much better rate."

Because Tagge previously worked with Stackable's parent company, XMission, he felt very comfortable with its support. "I know how their guys respond. I mean we had little issues when we moved to Stackable—things that needed to be tweaked—but the response was so quick."

"We have a lot of plans for our website in the future. With Stackable it’s possible to create a whole new instance, modify it, see how it works, see what it looks like, and then roll it out. It’s pretty nice. I definitely see Listen Technologies growing because of the benefits we'll gain from our new website and from being on Stackable."
